Join the Ski Club on 3 February 2010 in Zermatt for the Luttman-Johnson Challenge, a fun-filled mountain restaurant race, open to all.
The Challenge has been organised by the Ski Club for over 30 years. It is a mountain restaurant race for teams of two, open to skiers and boarders with categories for resort workers and visitors.
The aim of this unique event is to visit a number of pre-determined restaurants around the mountains, riding as fast as possible between them, so as to spend the maximum amount of time in each one.
Resort workers and visitors enter either the Trail (for those who prefer a more relaxed pace) or the Race (for the more serious competitors). The number of restaurants to visit varies depending on whether you enter the Race or the Trail.
Race entries are taken during the week leading up to the event by Ski Club reps during their social hour at the Hotel Pollux. Entries on the day also accepted.
After the event there will be prize-giving for different categories at the Hotel Pollux. For the second year running, the Natives Show Love Tour hits Zermatt on the same night as the Luttman-Johnson Challenge, so head to Nelly’s bar after the Luttman-Johnson prize giving for more goodies, a raffle prize-draw, drinks and fun. Visit natives.co.uk for more information.
To get a feel for the event watch some highlights from last year’s Luttman-Johnson Challenge on SkiTV.co.uk or take a look at the Event Photo Gallery for pictures of the day. You can also read an account of the event from Ski Club member Dennis Williams. As you can see fancy dress is encouraged but not compulsory!
If you would like to sponsor the event in any way, please contact carrie.hainge@skiclub.co.uk.
We hope to see you there! |
