Don't bow to peer pressure!Freeriding do's and don't's

Do plan ahead. Don't go off piste without thinking it through, especially if you're unsure of the terrain and weather conditions.

Do be aware and follow the area’s rules and regulations.

Don't bow to peer pressure! If you don't feel comfortable then stay on piste.

Do check the recent weather.

Do take a mobile phone and enter the number of the mountain rescue service (if you are in a good reception area); that way all you have to do is press a button if you get into trouble.

Don't be tight!Don't be tight! Invest in a qualified mountain guide. The cost of a mountain guide may sound high, but split between a group of you it can only increase your safety and improve your day - as well as improve your awareness and ridin' skills.

Do always tell someone where you are going. If you do get stranded or trapped in an avalanche your chances of survival are seriously compromised if nobody knows where you are!

Don't ever go through avalanche warning fences! You may be signing your own death certificate.

Do make sure that your insurance policy covers you for off piste riding.

Don't EVER go freeriding on your own.
