Resort jobs
For many of us, spending a ski season working in a resort is a dream job. There are many who want to spend a ski season in the mountains before getting a job in the “real” world.
Others may want to develop a career in the mountains, whether working in the travel industry or becoming a ski instructor or mountain guide. And there’s a growing number of older people who want to take a career break and spend a winter in the mountains.
This guide shows you what ski jobs are available if you want to work a ski season, how much they pay and what they are really like. We’ve teamed up with natives.co.uk who are specialists in finding people ski jobs in the mountains – you can search for the latest vacancies below.
You can opt for bar work in the evening to maximize your time on the piste, or get a day job ski guiding other people around the mountain – just don’t leave them behind when you spot some great untracked powder!
The social life, the flexibility, and of course the daily snow fix are what it’s all about. You’ll meet amazing people, see a side to the mountains that you would never experience as a tourist, and hopefully find the secret spots that only the locals know about. After all, you will be a local!
We also show you how and when to apply and have some first hand accounts from people actually doing the jobs on what they are like.
Here in the office at the Ski Club of Great Britain, the average number of full ski seasons completed is two, and that’s not including shorter stints squeezed in wherever possible. Even if you can only get away for a month, there’s work to be found, especially during holiday periods. So stop dreaming and follow our guide to getting that ski job.
