Snowsports Courses: Intro

Fed up with being stuck on the intermediate plateau? Want to discover how to make those elusive powder turns without falling flat on your face? Do you want to shape those exiting carving turns on the piste?

One of the best ways to do this is on a dedicated ski or snowboard instruction course.

Back in the 1980s, Ali Ross, the veteran Scottish Ski Instructor, pioneered instruction courses and now there are dozens and dozens each aimed at a different level of skier or snowboarder.

We answer all your frequently asked questions: Where are these ski courses run? Aren’t they all a bit serious and not much fun?

Courses range from a pre-season ski or snowboard instruction course in November up on the Grande Motte glacier in Tignes with The Development Centre, to a South American odyssey with Snoworks that could possibly be the trip of a lifetime.

We also give full details on how to become a ski or snowboard instructor with details of the options open if you want to try a career in the mountains.

Alternatively there are now dedicated freestyle courses in the terrain park so you can perfect your board slides, back side airs and rodeo 540's.

If you are serious about improving your style and getting more out of your time on the slopes then check out a dedicated snowsports course. You won’t regret it.
