Internet Explorer (Windows)

Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Internet Options...". A pop-up window will appear. Click the "Privacy" tab and check that the slider is not set on "Block All Cookies". If it is, move it down to a lower setting (eg "High"), then click the "Sites..." button. This will open another new window. Enter "skiclub.co.uk" into the "Address of Web site" box and then click "Allow" to always allow cookies from the Ski Club site. Click OK to close this window and OK again to close the window underneath.

Internet Explorer (Mac)

Go to the "Explorer" menu and choose "Preferences...". A pop-up window will appear. In the left column, click on the triangle to open the "Receiving Files" section and then click on "Cookies". Make sure the option for "When receiving cookies" is not "Never accept". Click OK to close the window. (Note that if you choose "Ask for each cookie", you'll see various cookie requests - make sure you click "Accept" for each cookie.)

Netscape Navigator (Windows and Mac)

Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Cookie Manager", and then choose "Allow Session Cookies from this Site" (only allows cookies this time) or "Allow Cookies from this Site" (allows cookies on every visit to the Ski Club site - required to log on automatically).

Mozilla Firefox (Windows and Mac)

Go to the "Tools" menu and choose "Options..." (if you have a Mac, go to the "Firefox" menu and choose "Preferences..."). A pop-up window will appear. Click on "Privacy" in the left column and then click on "Cookies" in the right area. Click the "Exceptions" button. This will open another new window. Enter "skiclub.co.uk" into the "Address of web site" box and either click the "Allow for Session" button (only allows cookies this time) or "Allow" button (allows cookies on every visit to the Ski Club site - required to log on automatically). Click OK to close this window and OK again to close the window underneath.

Safari (Mac only)

Go to the "Safari" menu and choose "Preferences...". A pop-up window will appear. Click on "Security" along the top. For the "Accept Cookies" section, choose "Only from sites you navigate to". Close the pop-up window.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files saved on your computer. They allow a web site to save information about your preferences between visits to the site.

On this site, we don't save any cookies with your personal information unless we ask you first and get your OK. You can always change your mind later and remove the cookies.

No other site on the Internet can read the cookies we save on your computer - and we can't read anyone else's cookies. So what you tell us stays with us.

If this isn't your own computer

Don't save a cookie on someone else's computer, otherwise they may be able to access your information without you knowing. So only save cookies on a computer you personally control.

If you use several computers

A cookie is saved on a specific computer. So if you use two computers, cookies you save on this computer won't be available on the other computer. But there's nothing to stop you saving the same (or different) cookies on both computers.

What are session cookies?

As well as normal cookies, which are saved on your computer, we use something called session cookies. These aren't saved on your computer and only last for as long as you have your browser open - as soon as you close your browser, they're gone.

We use these widely on the site so that we can keep track of things - for example, to know whether or not you've logged on. Because they're not saved on your computer, we don't ask you about these. Like normal cookies, they can't be shared between sites.
