What do ski companies look for in potential employees?

YSE employs chefs and cooks with a love of food, who care about its flavour and can present it beautifully. We employ chalet girls/boys, who can run a small chalet on their own, creating meals as good as those produced by the chefs in our lager chalets, while also keeping the chalet spotless and the guests happy. We take on chalet assistants, who do everything in the larger chalets except cook. They clean, make beds, serve meals and generally ensure that the guests are fully informed and happy. All of our employees need to be lively, enthusiastic people, with a love of the mountains and skiing or snowboarding, with charm, humour, good communication skills and an interest in other people. They must have high standards, must be tidy and clean and must be able to think for themselves, but also put their guests first. We employ maintenance men and Land Rover drivers, who need competence in these fields, and must be smiling, chatty, dependable and flexible - YSE

Premiere Neige uphold our ethics by recruiting mature, forthcoming, sincere team members. We look for independent, positive people who have a good work ethic, a clear understanding of the hospitality industry and who enjoy leading an active lifestyle. Willingness to learn and the ability to shamelessly fit into different situations are crucial characteristics. It's a case of putting your all in to get the most out of it. And we always reiterate the importance of a smile! A season is hard work and can often be physically tiring – we expect a lot from our team but believe the rewards of living in a beautiful alpine setting and being able to ski or board every week are more than worth it! - Premiere Neige

Aside from looking for people with experience specific to the role we will be looking for the right person that will be a team player and be great with the guests. We are very keen to get staff on board that are looking for a career in hospitality and have the passion for the job as well as the lifestyle - Mark Warner

If you are a 'people' person that cares about great service and can consistently professionally perform, then we can offer a great package in an outstanding location to spend the winter season. We look for commitment to quality and customer care and in return we truly value our team members and their time with us - Snowchateaux

Alpine Action look for couples or two friends, at least one half of a couple must have chef/catering experience or be undertaking a chalet style cooking course to host one of our chalets. Applicants must be able to be personable and presentable. An enthusiastic personality able to be flexible in your role, enjoying hard work requires a good sense of humour. Roles that would offer us enough confidence to work with you in preparing you to be successful Snowchateaux chalet hosts and cooks. You need to show you can add something special to our team, after all every guest relies on your ability to look after them with care and courtesy on their most important week of the year. Positions that we offer during the winter are Chalet Couples, Chalet Cook, Chalet Host and Driver/Maintenance, Chalet coordinator - Snowchateaux
