Storm brings snow to the Alps

Heavy snow fallen across many resorts in the Alps this week, but temperatures are set to rise again by the weekend.
Heavy snow was forecast across the French Alps, with up to 75cm expected to fall at Tignes this week and Chamonix had snow showers as low as 200m, with heavier snowfall above 500m.

In Switzerland, heavy snow was forecast this week and Saas Fee received nearly 170cm of fresh snow! Zermatt was also expecting massive snowfalls, and hope to open more lifts and pistes as a result.

More heavy snow was forecast across the open Austrian resorts that we report on, and as you can see, the glacier area in Sõlden had a much needed top up following warm sunshine and temperatures of up to 10C at the weekend.

The Ski Club's winter snow reports start on Monday, focusing on the northern hemisphere, and will be 5 days a week from 24th November.
