As ski innovations continue to make off piste even more accessible, more and more skiers and boarders are searching for that next adrenalin rush and the need for education and awareness about off piste safety is paramount. The Ski Club and Snow+Rock have always been at the forefront of promoting mountain safety and teaming up with HAT means that they can bring a series of high quality off piste safety talks and practical transceiver training sessions to skiers and snowboarders across the UK.

“With safety and snowsports continuing to hit the headlines, people are realising how important it is to be aware of how to stay safe in the mountains,” said Caroline Stuart Taylor, Chief Executive of the Ski Club. “By running a series of off piste and avalanche awareness talks with our partners HAT, Snow+Rock and Arc’tyrex, we hope that people can learn the basics of mountain safety before they go away and have a level of understanding which will help them have fun on their holiday, including when they head off piste.”

The Tour will be in held in six Snow+Rock stores across Britain, and the HAT team will be delivering a top class audio visual talk looking at how to have fun off piste whilst staying safe.

There will also be three practical avalanche transceiver training sessions that focus on search and rescue for off piste groups. These will take place on UK beaches during November, including Sandbanks in Dorset, Hayling Island, Hampshire and Formby, Merseyside.

The dates of the UK Off-piste and Avalanche Awareness Tour are as follows:

• Tues 3 November  – Covent Garden Snow+Rock, 7pm SOLD OUT
• Weds 4 November – Gateshead Snow+Rock, 7pm
• Thurs 5 November – Chill Factore Snow+Rock, 7pm
• Saturday 7 November - Sandbanks Beach, Dorset, 11am-1.30pm SOLD OUT
• Tues 10 November – Chertsey/M25 Snow+Rock, 7pm
• Weds 11 November – Kensington Snow+Rock, 7pm SOLD OUT
• Thurs 12 November – Bristol Snow+Rock, 7pm SOLD OUT
  
• Saturday 14 November - Hayling Island, Hampshire 11am-1.30pm SOLD OUT
• Saturday 21 November - Formby, Liverpool, Merseyside 11am-1.30pm

Tickets can be purchased from the Ski Club website and cost £7 for the Talks (or £6 for Ski Club members) and £35 for the avalanche transceiver sessions (per person).
