According to www.winterhighland.info, all the Top Basin runs, including the Ptarmigan Bowl, Ciste Bowl and Ciste Fairway, were skiable on Saturday 28 November. The resort had planned to open the Ptarmigan and Ciste tows, but was unsure whether the forecast snow showers would prevent riding on the mountain.
Visitors particularly enjoyed riding on the Ciste Fairway, which according to the Scottish snow and mountain sports website was "in fantastic condition for opening day with an excellent cover of machine packed powder". To see for yourself, take a look at the opening day photos at www.winterhighland.info.
The resort is not currently planning to open for snowsports this week but said it will “review this on a daily basis subject to conditions”. The Funicular railway is open today and will be open daily, weather permitting. The Ski Club's Cairngorm snow report will begin as soon as the data is available.
