The world-renowned Christie’s auction house hosted a fantastic evening on Tuesday 19 January to raise funds for the British Alpine Ski and Snowboard teams in aid of their Winter Olympics campaign.
There was a wide array of ski-related lots on offer, from signed merchandise and heliskiing trips, to luxury ski breaks. The Ski Club was involved in helping with the event, and the generosity of the near 400-strong attendees was further evident in the £1500 raised in the raffle presented by Graham Bell, who commented that "any support we can give our Olympians tonight will be very welcome".
The auction was attended by many of the stars of British skiing past and present, and there is also a poster sale on Thursday 21 January to further contribute to supporting the teams’ campaigns next month. For more information visit www.christies.com. To view more photos from the event visit the Event Photo Gallery.
We wish the British Olympians every success next month. The final team selection will be announced on Tuesday 26 January.
