Scotland has already hit the headlines once so far this season after epic snow received across resorts in January created a surge in visitors coming to enjoy the conditions. This week, it was a snowy picture once again after the Nevis Range reported 30cm of snow on Wednesday 17 February.
The Lecht also reported snow on Wednesday with 10cm received as did Glencoe, reporting 15cm. Cairngorm did not report any fresh snow on Wednesday but did experience a dump of its own on Tuesday 16 February reporting 20cm.
Elsewhere in Europe the southern French Alps is reporting also received a healthy dose of snow overnight on Tuesday and into Wednesday with resorts including Serre Chevalier, Foux d’Allos and Isola 2000 are all reporting excellent conditions.
Snow also fell elsewhere in the Western Alps on Wednesday and is on its way to Austria imminently. France, Switzerland, Italy and Austria shoud all see a fairly snow weekend. Across the pond Colorado has been receiving the most snowfall and this is expected to become heavier, whilst a snowstorm is on its way to California resorts.
Despite the negative press coverage of conditions at Whistler, which has been focussing on rain received in the resort, there is plenty of fresh powder to be enjoyed on the upper slopes following recent snowfall.
