Combining the speed of Downhill with the technical turns of Giant Slalom, racing in the Super G (or Super Giant Slalom) is no mean feat.
Starting from bib 33, British hope Ed Drake will be up against Swiss heavyweights Didier Cuche, Carlo Janka and Didier Defago as well as crowd favourite Manuel Osborne-Paradis, one of four Canadians competing in 64-strong field.
The event is however one of Drake’s favourite disciplines and after a good opening performance in the Downhill on day four of the games in which he came 38th, the reigning British Champion will be looking to put in a strong performance at Whistler Creekside.
The Men’s Super G starts at 7.30pm (GMT time) and the Ski Club will be providing live coverage throughout on Twitter and Facebook. Check back later for all the action as it happens!
