The Colorado ski resort of Vail is to honour Olympic skier and Vail local Lindsey Vonn by renaming a run after her
Lindsey Vonn, who took away a gold in the Ladies’ Downhill and bronze in the Super G from the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics, now has another accolade to add to the list – having a ski run named after her.
Vail ski resort in Colorado, where current World Cup leader Lindsey Vonn trains, is to rename the black diamond graded "International" trail – the site of the women’s speed events during the 1989 and 1999 FIS World Alpine Ski Championships – "Lindsey’s" after the ski racer.
“Lindsey’s on Vail Mountain is a perfect location for her namesake trail" commented Vail Resorts Chairman and CEO Rob Katz. "As a former race course and a groomed black diamond favorite for our guests, it is where future champions and everyday skiers alike can be inspired by Lindsey’s success. We are excited to welcome Lindsey home to her new run”.
As a designated rep resort, Ski Club members will be able to take advantage of skiing with a Ski Club rep on Lindsey’s run. To find out more about skiing with a Ski Club rep in Vail this season visit our reps section.
