Austria received an influx of snow over the weekend with resorts receiving up to 30cm in one day. Ski Club rep resort Mayrhofen reported 30cm of fresh snow on Saturday – the heaviest day of snow for many resorts – whilst St. Wolfgang had 15cm.
There are currently great conditions across resorts with most receiving between 5cm and 10cm of snow on Sunday 7 March. The Ski Club rep in Ischgl Laura Richards reported the pistes to be in “great condition” on Sunday whilst Kitzbuhel rep Mark Swan commented on the “good conditions both on and off the pistes”.
The snow has come with a drop in temperature which is helping to maintain the snow quality and there is more snow expected this week across the country in areas including the SkiWelt, Wildschonau region and Upper Zillertal.
Other snow news The colder weather also brought snowfall to Switzerland and Italy over the weekend and light dustings in France. Ski Club rep resort Murren received 20cm of snow on Saturday whilst rep resort Sauze d’Oulx reported 15cm.
In North America there are some fantastic riding conditions in Park City, Utah and Mammoth, California, after both resorts received more than 30cm in one day at the end of last week. The snow is forecast to head to Colorado this week.
