It has been a cold week in Europe with the influx of wintry weather bringing fresh snow to resorts across the continent earlier this week including some welcome snowfalls in Andorra and Bulgaria.
Our reported Bulgarian resorts all had snowfall on Wednesday 10 March, refreshing the pistes, whilst our reported Andorran resorts last recorded fresh snow on Tuesday 9 March with Soldeu receiving as much as 15cm.
“All the runs are good and today was another great day's skiing” commented the Ski Club’s Soldeu rep Robert Moore on Wednesday 10 March. “The air temperature is cold enough to keep the snow good all day”.
The cold weather is expected to remain in resorts in both countries over the weekend and into next week with temperatures as low as -11° in resorts in Bulgaria and -9° in Andorra's Grandvalira and Vallnord ski areas.
Elsewhere in Europe, Austria is also due more wintry weather until at least Friday 19 March with 14 resorts forecast 25cm or more of snow in the next nine days - this should fall as continuous light snow. France, Switzerland and Italy are due a more mixed bag with light snow interspersed by sunshine.
