The penultimate World Cup Snowboard events take place this weekend from Friday 12 March whilst the Ski Cross makes its last but one World Cup outing this season on Sunday

The ever popular Snowboard Cross, featuring Team GB Olympian Zoe Gillings, gets this weekend’s LG Snowboard FIS World Cup action underway in the Italian resort of Valmenco from Friday 12 March, with the Parallel Giant Slalom following on Saturday and the Halfpipe rounding things off on Sunday.
The Valmenco events will be the last chance to rack up the points before the finals in La Molina, Spain, from 19-21 March where the men’s and women’s titles in all three disciplines will be decided as well as the overall Snowboard World Cup winners for the 2009/10 season.
The World Cup Big Air title has already been taken by Stefan Gimpl and the there were also one-off Parallel Slalom and Slopestyle events for both men and women this season with 16-year-old rider Mark McMorris riding to a historic Slopestyle win in Calgary.
In the Ski Cross event, hot on the heels of the men’s and women’s World Cup competition in Grindelwald, Switzerland, on Friday 12 March the penultimate fixture gets underway just two days later in fellow Swiss resort Meiringen-Hasliberg on Sunday 14 March.
The Freestlye Skiing Ski Cross Finals take place in Sierra Nevada on 20 March.
