Austria enjoys weekend of snow

After snow in all our reported open Austrian resorts over the weekend, it’s looking white for the week ahead

As reported in our snow reports, 15cm of snow were received at Kaprun on Sunday 16 May whilst the Stubai Glacier had 5cm of fresh snow. Snow also fell at Hintertux over the weekend and it is also snowing there on Monday 17 May.
Hintertux currently has the greatest snow depth of our reported open Austrian resorts with 305cm on the upper slopes. Along with the Stubai Glacier, the resort is expecting light snow until the coming weekend, particularly on Thursday 20 May when up to 12cm could fall.
In other snow news Zermatt received 20cm of snow on 15 May – the largest dump of the weekend. It is North America however which is due to steal the limelight this week with Whistler, Canada, expecting 28cm of snow by the end of Sunday 23 May and Timberline, USA, expecting 31cm.
