Our last snowed data is full of reports from the Southern Hemisphere, where the season is really getting underway

It’s been snowing in Australia, New Zealand and Argentina this week as our last snowed data generated on Thursday 1 July shows. Mount Hotham, Perisher, Selwyn Snowfields and Thredbo in Australia all received a 2cm dusting of snow on Thursday whilst Falls Creek had 7cm.
In New Zealand there has been up to 22cm in a single day, as reported by the North Island resort of Whakapapa on Tuesday 29 June, whilst Rainbow (due to open on Saturday 3 July) and Turoa both reported 10cm on the same day.
Meanwhile Cerro Catedral in Argentina is the only one of featured South American resorts to have received any snow this week, reporting 10cm on Wednesday 30 June, although Chapa Verde received 35cm of snow on Sunday 27 June.
According to the current snow forecast, Cerro Catedral is expecting nearly a metre of snow in the next nine days whilst fellow Argentinean resort Chapelco is forecast 79cm. The Chilean resort of Termas de Chillan is due 84cm, including nearly half a metre on Tuesday 6 July.
Other snow news Saas Fee in Switzerland is due to open on Saturday 3 July, the last of our European reported resorts to do so. Mount Olympus in New Zealand is also due to open this weekend.
