Our six reported resorts in Chile are due a bumper snow dump on Tuesday 6 July. La Parva and Valle Nevado are both expecting 35cm to fall whilst fellow "three valleys" destination El Colorado is due 32cm. Chapa Verde should receive the most with 36cm forecast.
Meanwhile Termas de Chillan and Portillo are due 24cm and 25cm respectively. This is particular good news for Portillo after the resort took the decision not to sell day tickets from 3-10 July in order to preserve the snow conditions for guests at its one hotel.
In Argentina, Las Leñas is also due a snowy Tuesday with 29cm forecast. Cerro Catedral and Chapelco are due more moderate snow on Tuesday but should both see 25cm fall over the course of Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
The skies are due to brighten from Wednesday at the majority of our Chilean resorts and at Las Leñas meaning that mid- to late-week could be an ideal time to make some fresh turns during milder weather.
Cerro Catedral and Chapelco are due some further light dustings in the run up to the weekend, before the weather clears – ideal for any weekend visitors or those arriving in the resort for a holiday from this weekend.
All information is according to weather forecasts generated on Monday 5 July. For the latest snow conditions and weather updates visit our snow reports section.
