High fashion at high altitude - the top trends this winter

We take a look around Snow+Rock's top-end offerings, from merino-linings to faux fur, and Swedish style to shimmering fabrics

Snowsports fashions come and go like anything else, and if you fancy updating your wardrobe in time for this season, now's the time to do it. Here are a few of the top trends, and some of Snow+Rock's prime examples. Yes, the Ski Club is succumbing to a sort of a look book - enjoy!

No mink got chilly to make this hot look

Tailored to impress, and a Snow+Rock exclusive

Fur: keeping animals warm since the dawn of time! It's all over the autumn/winter catwalks, and it's big in skiing too - yes, faux fur means that we can look as glamorous as a silver fox without compromising your ethics.
To make sure you’re on-trend and looking the part when you hit the piste, high-end skiwear brand Schoffel have created an exclusive jacket, just for Snow+Rock, equipped with figure-flattering stretch panels, dazzling details and, of course, a sumptuous faux fur hood. It's two-parts fahhbulous to one part timeless parka, and we really covet it.

Striking contrast

Who says that fashion and function don’t mix? This Kjus Cape jacket proves otherwise. It’s packed with technical features, as you'd expect from Kjus - a brand that was founded when a Norwegian Olympic medal winner and a Swiss entrepreneur took it upon themselves to push fabric design forward.
As such it's unbelievably comfortable and the super modern combination of matte and iridescent fabrics creates an elegant contrast that we just can't resist.

Peak Performance
Aye aye

Scandinavian style

Those Nordic countries just keep getting cooler (literally, at the moment), from food to fiction to fashion.
Peak Performance, the brand from the Swedish resort of Åre, is back at Snow+Rock with a fresh collection of high performance skiwear that is seriously stylish. It's designed to meet the demands of the backcountry, gives you freedom of movement and works to keep you feeling comfortable on the inside however tough the conditions outside. Looks-wise they manage to be modern and retro at once, with a touch of nautical rescue services about them… Ah, to be rescued by a Swede in the Peak Performance range

Dashing, tough, extreme: must be Swedish

Elevenate comes to the UK

Snow+Rock is introducing Swedish freeride brand Elevenate to the UK this winter - we like what we see. With over 6000 ski days between them, co-founders Sara Ronngren and Jimmy Oden know exactly what they want from their skiwear, striking detail, bold colours and the technology to take on the highest peaks and deepest powder. They've designed the collection to be inspired by workwear, which is a conundrum that people on holiday will have plenty of time to work out…

Put your trust in merino

Merino wool has ruled the cosiest roosts for years, used in baselayers for its thermo-regulating, moisture-wicking, odour-resisting superpowers. So why has it taken so long for someone to think of lining a ski jacket with merino? Why didn't we think of it ourselves? Well, that's why Ortovox are the daddy - they pioneered the transceiver 35 years ago. Everything they do, they do for the backcountry. Merino Guardian is the world’s first three-layer set to incorporate a full merino wool inner. The merino is laminated to a waterproof, breathable membrane and tough face fabric, dramatically improving breathability, moisture transfer and comfort. Ideal for long tours in the wintery wilderness.
