3 Free Peak Season Ski Club Essentials
Utilise these 3 free ways in which the Ski Club can help enhance your holiday - all you need is a smartphone and access to the internet!
By now hopefully, with just days to go until departure you have done much of the work already. As any trip approaches we all naturally get a little excited, usually around the Wednesday afternoon in the office, and by Thursday lunch holiday-dreams are in full flow. All that remains is for you to do is pack your bags, remember your passports and got to the airport in time.
Whether it’s on the train out of St Pancras, waiting for your departure at Gatwick or halfway across the English Channel you will hopefully at some point in your journey have some time to pause and think ahead to your time in resort. Instead of holiday-dreaming, why not whip your smartphone out and utilise this down time to make the week ahead as smooth as possible?
Follow these 3 tips from the Ski Club before you have to buy that roaming data bundle/you lose your last bar of signal on the ferry/the free wifi runs out. And what’s more it won’t cost you a penny, absolutely nada.
Newly redesigned, our free weather app brings you up to date forecast for your whole week of skiing. With forecasts and updates for over 250 resorts across the world, you’ll avoid any meteorological surprises wherever you are headed. Use the knowledge in your pocket to dress the kids right before they shoot off to ski school. Alternatively use it for more personal gains – a sneaky glance at the simple interface under the dinner table or bar will leave your friends wondering how you have come to possess these precipitation prediction powers. The six day forecast allows you to see which of your valuable ski days you may want to grab first lifts and which evenings you can afford yourself a little recovery time from.
Find out about the App here. Available for Free on Apple iOS and Android devices.
New for this season are our Facebook resort groups. These online communities are your number one stop to find out what’s happening in resort, a communal and unbiased resource with local tips on what is happening in resort at any time. From which bars and restaurants are particularly good to which runs are best to head to in order to avoid the crowds, get the inside scoop about everything that your resort has to offer. Looking for someone to ski with while the kids are in ski school? Maybe you don’t fancy spending the whole afternoon lapping the snowpark like the teenagers in your group? Find like-minded and similar ability skiers and boarders on these online communities!
Right at the heart of the Ski Club is our Leader service. Skiing with the Ski Club means you can really get the most out of your time on the mountain. Get your nose out of the piste map and concentrate on the skiing. Whether it’s piste or powder that you are looking for there is a leader group for you, with different ability groups throughout the week. Each day the Leader in resort will host a social hour in resort where you can drop in to learn more about resort, find out where is best to ski the next day or just to have a natter! Over peak season we have leaders in major resorts across the world available for members for no charge, check if your destination is on the list here.
P.S. Just in case you have left it very last minute, check out our recent blog with some insider tips on booking your peak season holiday.
