What does the Ski Club do?

The Ski Club is a not-for-profit organisation and the largest snowsports club in the UK. As well as being a club, the Ski Club is the voice of recreational snowsports in the UK. All skiers and boarders can join the Ski Club online. Membership of the Club means discounts on travel, accommodation, equipment and ski clothing; information services including Ski+board Magazine and Ski Club reps in 35 resorts.

What information can the Ski Club provide for journalists?

For the media, the Ski Club can provide information and quotes on anything to do with snowsports, including information on resorts, fitness, safety, snow conditions and UK snowsports market statistics.

Can the Ski Club supply quotes for articles?

Yes. If you are looking for a quote for an article on snowsports, please call Betony Garner who is in charge of Press and PR at the Ski Club on 0208 410 2018 or 07740 642 262.

Has the Ski Club got any statistics about UK skiers/boarders?

Yes. The Ski Club publishes an annual report on the UK Snowsports Market called The Snowsports Analysis.

Does the Ski Club produce snow reports/comments on snow conditions?

Yes. The Ski Club are the UK's leading supplier of snow information. During the winter, we report on the snow conditions in 250 resorts, 5 days a week, and the Club's 35 rep resorts are also updated at the weekends. We also write an online snow editorial every Monday and Thursday that gives an overview of the snow conditions in each country.

Does the Ski Club have historical snow information?

Yes. The Ski Club publishes average weekly snow depths from the last 12 winter seasons for Ski Club members. Non-members have access to last season's snow depths. The best way to make an educated guess about the likely snow levels in a resort for a certain week is to look at the past snow depth records. If you would like more information on the full 12 years of historical snow reports please call Betony Garner on 0208 410 2018 or 07740 642 262.

Is there a snowsports safety code?

Yes. The International Ski Federation (FIS) has established ten rules for conduct for skiers and snowboarders which should be followed at all times.

Does the Ski Club have an environmental code of conduct?

Yes. The Ski Club has it's own environmental policy. We have also launched the Respect the Mountain campaign to help safeguard the natural environment and the long-term future of skiing by raising awareness of environmental issues in the mountains. We also publish an environmental database, called the Green Resort Guide, which advises skiers on what resorts are doing to help protect the environment, ranking their performance on different criteria including recycling, green power, traffic reduction and building policy.
