To help people get onto the slopes to enjoy skiing and boarding without spending a fortune. Ski Club membership opens up a world of benefits that make skiing and boarding more fun and even cheaper – which is why we now have around 30,000 members. Anyone can join. The Ski Club is for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities including absolute beginners. Ski Club members save money, get help preparing for the slopes and have a range of holiday options to choose from. They also have access to a wealth of information and a calendar of events that spans the entire year.

Ski Club Past
The Club was founded in 1903 by a small group of ski pioneers and was responsible for starting international competitions in 1920 leading to the first World Championships in downhill and slalom in 1931. Although the first Winter Olympics in 1924 included cross-country skiing only, the Ski Club appealed to the International Ski Federation for downhill and slalom to be included, which was accepted by 1936. The Ski Club then developed its recreational side, starting with British Ski Tests to give skiers goals to aim for. In the 1930s the Club began to organise specialist ski holidays. The British Ski Federation was then set up as the national governing body for ski racing in 1964.
