Become A Rep: Qualifying As A Ski Club Rep

Ski Club Rep snowboardingRepping flexibility

  • Unpaid volunteers: All Ski Club Reps are unpaid volunteers who give up some of their free time to Rep for the Club for anything between three consecutive weeks and the whole season.
  • Flexible: Because Ski Club repping is so flexible, it can very easily be combined with a full time job and Ski Club Reps can Rep for many years once they have taken the course.

Does the following apply to you?

  • You are aged between 21 and 60 years old.
  • Ski/snowboard experience: You have skied/boarded regularly over the last three years and for at least 15 weeks in total.
  • Ski/snowboard standard: You should be at least a strong Ski Club purple skiing/boarding standard.
Find out what standard you are. Or contact reps@skiclub.co.uk for more info.
    • On piste: You are a very strong parallel skier, able to ski comfortably and in control down all black runs and bump runs. You are able to do fluent, linked short radius turns. You ski fast all day, and try to take the fall line wherever possible.
    • Off-piste: You have done a few weeks' off piste skiing, you enjoy it and want to challenge yourself further, tackling steeper slopes and skiing faster. You can safely negotiate all types of snow off-piste without holding up or endangering the group. You are technically good, ski fast and are fit. You are keen to take on new challenges and you enjoy skiing off-piste wherever possible.
  • References from Ski Club Reps: You can provide two references from existing Ski Club Reps with whom you have skied/boarded recently, verifying your skiing/boarding ability and your general suitability to become a Ski Club Rep. We will accept references from qualified ski/snowboard instructors or Mountain Guides in lieu of one from a Ski Club Rep.
  • Ski Club RepsYour character: You are sociable, outgoing, have a sense of humour and an unselfish attitude when leading groups of all levels, from intermediates to experts. You like meeting new people and have a genuine desire to help them.
  • Ski Club of Great Britain service: You genuinely value the service offered by the Ski Club of Great Britain, and are willing to commit time and effort, both during the season and in the UK, to promoting it.
  • Organisation: You are a good organiser with self-discipline who is able to keep paperwork up to date and organise time efficiently.
  • Languages: You can speak French, German, Italian or Spanish (this would be an added bonus but it's not essential).
  • Availability: You are available to Rep for a minimum of three consecutive weeks each winter season, including three weeks during the season you take the Reps' Course.

If this sounds like you, then you've come to the right place! For more information and to request an application form email reps@skiclub.co.uk or call 020 8410 2039.
