Ski Club Rep skiingOther commitments and opportunities

  • UK events: We also encourage our Reps to become involved with UK snowsports events such as the Ski Shows in order to help promote the Ski Club in the UK.
  • Reps' and Leaders' Training Days: We run several training days prior to the start of each season, in the Autumn at the Clubhouse in Wimbledon. All active Reps must attend every year, all active Ski Freshtracks Leaders are required to attend once every two years.
  • BASP First Aid Course: As part of the Reps' Course, candidates complete a British Association of Ski Patrollers' First Aid course, held in November each year. This qualification needs updating every three years, and all active Reps and Leaders must hold a valid BASP First Aid certificate (or similar if refreshing their skills) in order to Rep or to lead a Ski Freshtracks holiday.
  • Leading a Ski Freshtracks holiday: After repping at least once, Reps may go on to become Leaders on Ski Freshtracks holidays in future seasons.
  • Continuous Development Programme: 4 day on-snow Refresher Training Courses are run at the start and end of the season, and Reps are obliged to attend one every 5 years.
  • Additional training: Additional training is regularly offered in the UK (eg: transceiver search and update).
