Chamonix valley’s online mountain guide. This section of the website takes you through extracts of Jimmy Odén’s book ‘Free Skiing: How to adapt to the mountain’. This is brief but informative way method of learning about avalanche awareness, safety, slab formation and snow-packs.
This avalanche training programme developed by Roger Payne enables winter sports enthusiasts to gain information and training for safe travel in avalanche terrain.The programme consists of three levels: awareness, foundation and advanced. Online training is also provided on the website.

This ski injury website is written by Dr Mike Langran who is a ski patrol doctor at Cairngorm mountain in the Scottish Highlands. Having dealt with more than his fair share of snowsports injuries this site provides up-to-date information on the variety of injuries which occur when skiing and snowboarding and how to prevent them. This is an independent, non-profit website.
