Avalanche transceiver hire
The Ski Club runs a hire scheme for avalanche transceivers. Transceivers can be hired at the following prices:
- Members: £10 a week (Wednesday to Wednesday).
- Non-members: £20 a week (Wednesday to Wednesday).
There will also be a £5 charge for post and packaging and £120 returnable deposit with each transceiver.
If you would like to hire a transceiver you can call 0845 45 807 83 for more information.
Transceivers are vital if you are venturing off-piste due to the risk of avalanches. You should also carry with you a probe and shovel.
Information on how to use a transceiver
We have avalanche cards detailing how to use different types of transceivers. Please note - these are a guideline, and you should thoroughly practice using your transceiver before you head off-piste and make sure that you are confident using the device.
