Auris-en-Oisans
A purpose built resort set just above the original Auris village. It is a small family resort with a ski kindergarten and nusery. The pistes of Alpe d'Huez are easily accessible and the return to Auris has been improved in recent years to make this much easier for all ability levels.
This area used to be tricky to return to for beginners and lower intermediates, but this has changed. By a combination of three chairlifts - Auris Express, Louvets and Alpauris - it is possible to travel from the Auris village to Bergers in Alpe d'Huez. This route is also available for use by pedestrians and it enables complete beginners to head to thebeginner slopes of Alpe d'Huez and back. If you need to, you can travel all the way to Alpe d'huez by chairlift and back again so as to access the high altitude skiing on the glacier if the snow cover is marginal at the extremeties of the season.
