Cauterets
Cauterets is set in a large sunny valley in the Pyrenees, and is one of the most snow sure resorts in the Pyrenees.
The pistes are located in the Lys area, just a 12 minute ride from the village via the Telecabine du Lyse cable car that was installed in 2005. The ski area offers four green, seven blue, seven red and two black runs, totalling 36km of pistes. There are also three freestyle areas. Cauterets is a bit of a hidden gem for snowfall too, often receiving a lot more snow that even some of its nearby neighbours. Cauterets is also great for cross country skiing in the Pont d'Espagne area, only 7km from the town. At Pont d'Espagne there is 36.5km of cross country ski trails and 6km or way marked paths. Cauterets also boasts thermal springs, providing the perfect way to unwind after a hard day's skiing.
