Andermatt: mountain
Andermatt's skiing is split across three mountains linked by ski buses: Gemstock (high, steep with acres of off-piste); Nätschen (good for families and beginners); and Winterhorn (good for intermediates and off-piste). Sedrun, reached by a 20-minute ride on the Matterhorn Gotthard train, is also part of the ski area. Due to its proximity to Zürich, Andermatt fills up on weekends, resulting in queues for Gemstock in particular. However, the cable car opens 30 minutes early on Saturdays (0800), giving locals a headstart.
