If staying in Bled you have another area ,Kravavec, which is very close to airport .It has snow cannons and looks similar size to Vogel. It is probably quicker to reach also as most of the way is duel carriageway,(though not quite as scenic as along the side of lake Bohinj). The trip to Bled by hire car from Airport is less than half an hour and will be even better when tunnel is completed and road work finished.
