  There's some good skiing at Flims - in the right conditions. It's a relatively low altitude which means that late season visits - like mine last year - will not get the best of it and runs to the valley will be extremely slushy. There are also too many T-bars. That said, the long black run off the back of the little glacier at the top of the resort is superb, and there is some good "yellow run" regulated but ungroomed terrain.

  Whilst you can at a stretch walk between Flims, Laax & Falera, they are very different places to stay. Flims Dorf is served by the main lifts and has a handful of bars for apres(probably only 2 or 3 worth visiting) and a main drag with some restaurants & shops, but is pretty low-key. Flims Waldhaus is even quieter, but has a better choice of accomodation. Laax is the next village down the valley with a main gondola up the mountain and is becoming a boarders destination with activity centred around the hugely popular riders palace at the Murschetg end of town. Falera is the appendix of the valley; it's there but it's not really obvious why. A great weekend can be had in Flims or Laax, but a much longer stay will probably exhaust what both the mountain and valley have to offer. The local Swiss come here when the sun is out, so sunny Saturdays after a dump are very busy. Dont forget to get your picture taken outside the 'CrapBar' in Laax.
