We were at La Pleta Hotel last week. It was the first time that we travel to Baqueira and our holidays were excellent. The snow was perfect, the views are amazing and the regional food is incredible. Also we would like to recommend you this hotel because the staff are very friendly and efficiently. We will come back for sure !!

Stayed for a week commencing 9 March at the Tuc Blanc and had a great time. A really nice relaxing skiing holiday - nothing too challenging but lots of nice reds and blues, with a couple of blacks. The Tuc Blanc hotel was fantastic - the best breakfast we have ever had on a skiing holiday - so it didn't matter that the mountain restaurants were usually just fast food because you won't need much after that breakfast!! The gondola is just over the road from the Tuc Blanc, but beware, there are a number of steps to get to it - not the best thing first thing in the morning - but nice at the end of the day when you can ski back to under the gondola and just cross the road to the hotel. There is not much to the village, i.e very few shops etc so don't expect it to be like Val D'Isere. There were hardly any queues - we had a gondola to ourselves every morning. The resort does get busy at the weekend when the locals arrive and the local kids ski teams - but still not huge queues for lifts. Visitors to the resort were mainly Spanish and French, a few Brits but we didn't hear any Germans! We had a great time and we would recommend the resort and the hotel. If you want a really nice relaxing skiing holiday - try it, you will be pleasantly surprised!

We stayed here for a week in March 2006.
There is plenty of good intermediate slopes and often little difference between blue and red (sometimes blue is more difficult!).
The food and drink opportunities on the mountain were pretty awful (lousy coffee and junk/fast food) though there were some good restaurants in the town.
The slopes were very busy at weekends and not at all pleasant (looked like they were swarming with ants!).
Though much quieter during the week, the skiing abilities of the locals leaves alot to be desired. It is the 1st place I have been where standing at the side of a slope waiting on the crowd going by, we were used as slalom poles!
I hear they are putting in a few new hotels and apartments but that will just make it more chaotic!

What a fantastic resort, certainly on par with the majority of Alpine resorts. Lots of variation with a well linked system covering 3 areas. Fantastic off piste opportunities after fresh snow. If you are looking to experience a skiing holiday with a difference why not try Peak Times where there ski safari covers 4 different resorts in 6 days including Baqueira Beret, Superbagneres, St Lary Soulan and Peyragudes.

Skied here in March 2005 since went back in feb 2006, what can I say a secret waiting to be discovered. No long lines at the lifts, smiling faces and loads of fun, plus its cheap............ As a Spaniard said to me last year, we have the snow the sun and the girls, its like a beach. This year we are flying to Pau in france then 2 hrs in the car. Go there while you can and before Crystal find it.

I learnt to ski here in the 80's whilst living in Madrid as a teenager, it is a lovely resort.....well worth a long weekend... Spain has lots of good skiing - another resort I used to go to was Candanchu in the pyrenees and Sierra Nevada near the costa del sol no less! If you want somewhere different but can't stomach Bulgaria, then head to Spain!

Excellent resort with a few irritating niggles. The skiing is extensive, varied and certain due to microclimate and excellent snowmaking, with pleny of sunshine. The lift system generally efficient. fantastic dramatic scenery. Monutain food is good and the staff are there for you. KIDS: legislate for private lessons and try to pre-book a locker at 1800. AVOID: the French school holidays. NIGGLES: no effective resort transport, cannot cope with crowds of frogs, some attention to detail on the lift layout and use would have been useful. There was the worst mist I have seen but I dont know if this was common. Most expensive resort in Spain, but still far better than the alps. A secret worth shouting about!

A real resort gem - with loads of good skiing for all levels. I had never heard of it but with lots of cheap flights to Toulouse - most of which are not full - it provides an excellent 'long weekend' resort [flights tues and thurs seem to be commonest]. I shall definitely visit again - but it would be better if some local could run a basic support system [transfers, apartment booking etc.] at a reasonable cost. There is a good opening for an entrepeneurial ski-bum!!

This is one of spains best kept secrets. The resort is wonderful! Skiing is great with cheap mountain resturants. The Tuc Blanc Hotel, at the base of the lifts, is highly recomended (Remember all prices for 7 days include 6 days ski pass). We are going again this year for the 4th time. Baqueira is self managed and the best way to book is with the resort through the Web Site www.baqueira.es

Skiing is good if snow is right, lots of off piste. Tuc Blanc is v. good, especially the food, kids welcome too and beside the lift.
