Snow overview for Canada
Thursday 25 May 2017

Whistler, British Columbia, Canada, is currently closed as the team at the resort begin work shifting some of the remaining snow base to facilitate summer activities. The resort is due to partially reopen for skiing again on the 10th June.

Over on the west coast of the USA in Oregon, the base depth at Timberline (424cm) has been on a steady decline over the past couple of weeks. Temperatures at mid mountain level were at around +5C on Thursday 25th May, which is considerably lower than it has been this week. For those heading up, the resort has typically been running three lifts on a daily basis, and there has been some lovely corduroy snow early on in the morning which churns up as the day goes on.

Holiday in Lake Louise -Staying at the Deer Lodge
Overall rating: 5 stars

Just back from a fantastic holiday in Lake Louise, snow almost everyday for 2 weeks! We stayed at the Deer Lodge (not modern - it is an old lodge - but for us that is the charm!), a lovely, cosy, quiet, relaxing hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and good value. The Fairmount Chateau is 5 minutes walk away with a variety of restaurants, and the lovely lake and forest -areas with excellent walking and snowshoeing trails. We skied in Lake Louise and Sunshine Village (free ski bus to Sunshine Village sun/thur) - all with great varied runs. Apres was a walk then wine and a good book infront of a cosy fire in the lounge area - great for us (may not be exciting enough for some!). Loved it - would go back tomorrow!!!
