Snow overview for France
Tuesday 31st January was France’s main day for snow falling across almost all their resorts. Low lying resorts such as Risoul (100/180cm) really benefited from on this dag where a superb 50cm of fresh snow fell. Subsequently, on Thursday 2nd February the resort enjoyed bluebird skies.
It was also a beautiful clear day in many other locations including Les Deux Alpes (90/300cm) and Les Gets (85/210cm) where healthy snowfall was also received on Tuesday. Morzine (60/300cm) and Avoriaz (260/300cm) reported particularly fresh conditions after a notable 10cm of new snow fell on Wednesday 1 February. On Thursday, the skies were clear which created a fantastic riding environment. In fact our leader in Avoriaz said the conditions ‘were every skier’s dream’.
Snowfall continued in a handful of featured resorts on Thursday including a respectful 20cm snowfall in Bareges/La Mongie (90/140cm). Cauterets (80/230cm) also received 20cm in the early hours of Thursday, and the sun was shinning during the day, making conditions fantastic.
