Snow overview for Canada
Thursday 16 April 2015

There is some great skiing still in Alberta this week, with Marmot Basin (143cm) reporting 17cm of new snow in the past four days and Lake Louise above Banff (186/195cm) has picked up a massive 64cm in the past week. There is some great late season powder to be found and both resorts are set to remain open until May. Changeable weather is forecast for the weekend, with some nice sunny skies in between some light snow showers.

Whistler (205cm) is still able to offer some good skiing, although lower down there is very little snow. The top bowls are in great shape and thanks to recent snowfall some good powder days have been had – finally! Some great spring sunshine is forecast for the coming days.

Over on the east coast, both Mont Sainte-Anne (50/70cm) and Tremblant (60/120cm) are open this weekend following a week of closure to preserve the snow. Expect spring conditions under what sadly is forecast to be a damp Saturday but a sunny Sunday.

All of our other featured resorts are now closed for the season.

These are places we stayed at and would highly recommend them.
The friendly family atmosphere is magnetic
We have now bee to Silverstar 3 times and will go back each year.
The back ( Dark ) side is awsome. The ski school is fabulous.
Would highly recommend getting the early bird season pass and the discount ski school group lessons with it. They turn out to be like private lessons (1-4 people ) 20 pounds for 2 hours. Almost everywhere is virtual ski in / out.
Night life a bit quiet. THEY NEED MORE BRITS out there.
The snow is excellent from early December, no man made stuff. There is night skiing. The tourch light ski down from the top into the village on xmas eve was great. The kids all came down with glow sticks while we came down the face , in a line carrying flares.
