Snow overview for Canada
Monday 02 March 2015

Light top ups of fresh snow over the weekend have improved the conditions across British Columbia, although Whistler (147cm) continues to suffer from a lack of snow. Red Mountain (151cm) caught a nice 3cm of new snow on Sunday and Revelstoke (198cm) fared even better after seeing 8cm of powder. This has improved the piste conditions following the recent mild spell of weather. Sunny skies dominate the forecast, with temperatures expected to rise gradually to above freezing at mid-mountain level.

Colder temperatures have ensured the snow has remained in excellent condition in Alberta, despite only light dustings of snow hitting the Banff (150cm) resorts and Marmot Basin (118cm). Some great grooming has led to some great soft piste conditions across the mountain. A sunny spell of weather is expected this week and temperatures are set to remain low.

Tremblant (110/190cm) and Mont Sainte-Anne (90/150cm) in Quebec and Blue Mountain (150cm) in Ontario continue to offer fantastic skiing. Cold air and some nice top ups of snow in recent weeks have resulted in some amazing on piste conditions. It is set to continue over the coming week, with 20cm of new snow possible.

Sun Peaks review

Big thanks to all we met whilst having a great 10 days in Sun Peaks. Skiing was excellent, with great confidence building runs on all 3 mountains. Stayed at the Cahility lodge, which was very convenient for the slopes, walk out of the ski room and onto the slopes. The chilli at the Sunburst lodge is great along with the hot cake, though might weld your teeth together.
