Tignes and Val d’Isere are both closed for skiing at the moment. The glaciers at both resorts open in June for the summer season.
Les Deux Alpes also plans to open for their summer skiing season on 22nd June.

Just back from our first visit to Val d'Isere and my wife and I had a wonderful time. As relatively new members to The Ski Club, we made use of the guiding option for the first time and were delighted with the service provided by John Parkinson on both the Sunday and Wednesday (intermediate) outings. There was lots of fresh snow and the visibility was poor at times (especially on the Sunday) but we skiied with confidence knowing that we were in good hands! Thanks John.
The Espace Killy offers a huge range of runs and some wonderful places to dine for those lovely lunches that the French are so good at. Of course, if you want to just stop for a quick snack, there are lots of options for that too!
The party atmosphere at La Follie Deuce at the end of the afternoon was great but our preference was to enjoy it from the natural amphitheatre for a while then ski down the green Verte piste to La Trifollet for a more peaceful refreshment in the setting sun before heading down to La Daille to catch the ski bus back to Val. By the way - the ski bus service is superb linking Val to La Daille (down the valley) and Le Fornet (up the valley) very effectively with buses every few minutes at peak times and almost as regularly during the day.
Can't wait to go back!
