Ski Club of Great Britain's Guide to Summer Skiing and Snowboarding

All you need to know about skiing and snowboarding in the summer.

The summer ski season is now upon us as the Southern hemisphere resorts open up for business and the European glacial resorts operate with some amazing powder conditions. The Ski Club of Great Britain offers detailed information and resources to help skiers and snowboarders make the most of the mountains during the summer months.

The Ski Club’s website,, has snow reports for 44 resorts in Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and Europe. The reports are updated twice weekly during the summer months from the start of May until the end of October. The Ski Club snow reports also outline when the many glaciers across Europe open and close for summer skiing. Tignes and Les Deux Alpes open on 18 June, Saas Fee opens on 9 July, Cervinia in Italy opens on 2 July while Hintertux in Austria stays open 365 days a year.

Find out where you can ski or snowboard over the summer in the Ski Club’s online info & advice section, which has gone through a complete redesign and now offers an easy to navigate Summer Skiing and Snowboarding section with detailed resort guides for many of the summer ski resorts, tips and advice for taking a summer skiing trip, park tips and more. Also listed are ski and snowboard camps and courses running in the summer months – many offering discounts to Ski Club members.

Al Morgan, Ski Club of Great Britain's Information Manager says, "Skiing in the summer is great fun and it seems more and more people are heading out to the mountains in the summer. One of our most recent polls on the Ski Club website shows that 54% of our voters want to spend their summer in the mountains. Why? Well you can enjoy the snow in the mornings and get active with tennis, hiking or biking in the afternoons. You can also brush up on your technique on one of the many courses on offer or take a real adventure by heading down to South America.”
