Throughout the area, the upper slopes are open, the lower slopes wooded.

Slopes

  • Resort altitude: 1000m
  • Lower slopes: 670m
  • Upper slopes: 2025m
  • Total pistes: 128km

For beginners

There is plenty of fine red-run terrain; but near-beginners wanting to build their confidence are not well catered for at Alpbach, and not catered for at all at Auffach.

For intermediates

There is plenty of fine red-run terrain; but near-beginners wanting to build their confidence are not well catered for at Alpbach, and not catered for at all at Auffach.

For advanced

The reds and the blacks (often groomed) are not without challenge, and there are runs of 1000m vertical on both mountains when snow is good. There are one or two ski routes, and more adventurous routes including the Gern run from Schatzberg down a deserted valley to the road a little way from Auffach. The schools take the top classes off-piste.
