Eight-seat gondolas (served by free ski-buses) go up from each end of Brand into the bigger part of the ski area it shares with Bürserberg down the valley. Bürserberg has a double chairlift into its own smaller area of slopes. The two areas are linked at altitude by the 60-person Panoramabahn cable car. You can ski on an easy blue run from the Bürserberg area to the Brand area and catch the cable car the other way. The area above Brand is served by two six-packs, a couple of short draglifts and an old double chair. One of the six-packs reaches the area's high point of 2000m. Above Bürserberg, the area is served by two double chairlifts, a quad and a couple of draglifts, one of which takes you to the blue piste linking the two areas. Most of the runs are blue and red, though there are a few ski routes, and a solitary black run (above Bürserberg). In total there are 55km of mainly east-facing pistes that suit intermediates best; 80% of the pistes are covered by snowmaking. The area is well supplied with huts. There's a good terrain park and a half-pipe above Brand (see www.backyards.at). There's excellent cross-country here too, with 20km of prepared tracks including some at the top of Bürserberg and a glorious 15km circular route at 1250m.
