Village in the Montafon strung along the main road and spoiled by traffic. A gondola goes up to Valisera on the west ridge of the Nova ski area (see Gaschurn) and a blue run comes back down to the gondola base. From the 2011/12 season a new gondola from the same area as the old one goes up the opposite side of the valley to Grasjoch on the Hochjoch ski area - but there is no piste back. Hochjoch is a fair-sized area of easy blue runs, with occasional red alternatives. Apart from the new gondola and one eight-pack, the lifts are slow chairs and drags. The blue/red run from Kreuzjoch down to Schruns is a notable 12km long and 1700m vertical (and includes a section through the longest ski tunnel in the world - 473m). Snowmaking covers almost half the runs.
