After a slow start to the season, recent weeks in Whistler have been the best of the winter so far, with lots of natural snowfall and cold weather to get the snow machines firing. 111cm of new snow has been picked up in the past 7 days to take the season total past 6m and the great news is that the next week is looking very snowy – so expect more powder days!
Further inland, there is some great skiing to be had in interior British Columbia and over in Alberta. Cold temperatures and regular snowfall top ups have resulted in a strong January so far and with more snow expected at the weekend, conditions look set to improve further.
Over on the East Coast, it is a similar situation to down in the USA, with resorts reporting decent skiing under sunny skies, but accompanied by bitterly cold temperatures.
