Snow Report

Tue 26 Mar 2019, 06:22
A cloudy day and a little cooler than previous days (not that that's saying much!). Some snow was materialising and rain was falling at village level in the evening. Snow is coming! I promise!

Skiing Today

Big seems to be the theme of today and boy was it a BIG day on Blackcomb! We started off with groomers like Springboard, Cougar Milk, Jersey Cream, Honeycomb, ZigZag, once even blasting at pace all the way down to Blackcomb base, making the most of pistes that hadn't frozen overnight. The group were getting on fine until the Leader introduced some competition into the gang with paired races on the GMC race track. Whoa! Heat turned up and with conditions softening we started sampling some off-piste with a fantastic run down Swiss Cheese. Wonderful snow on this line (but shhhshhh, keep it a secret!). Blackcomb Glacier was in fine form, Husume Flank, cutting the side pockets of the Gemstones was also great (Surf's Up is also in fine form). Tears of an Irish Lady was thoroughly celebrated on the actual birthday of said lady! Happy birthday Irish Lady. A waffly lunch at Crystal was followed up with some Arthur's Choice, Cafe Chutes and fast groomers to bring the great day to an end. Run of the day: Swiss Cheese (but we must doth the proverbial cap to Tears of an Irish Lady). Upper slopes: Spring snow. Lower slopes: Spring snow. Off piste: Varied.

Snow overview for Canada

30 April 2018

Clouds and snowfall are the offer of the day on Tuesday 26 March for Canada, and that’s set to slowly fade into sunshine as the week goes on, giving some potentially fantastic conditions.

On the powder highway, Red Mountain has been enjoying consistent snowfall for days now, and is scheduled for one more top up of 6cm before the sun comes out. Stay on the groomers today and there should be fresh lines to be had tomorrow. Revelstoke is similar.

Winds are high in Whistler at the moment, with light snow flurries on the horizon, but a few days of clear weather first.

The spring skiing is in full flow at Lake Louise, where there's also more snow due, and the temperatures are set to be mild.
