The Walker Art Gallery, St George’s Hall (saved by the intervention of Prince Charles) and the re-furbished Liverpool Central Library are very close. At the World Museum we have the exhibition of figures from the Terracota Army on loan from China. Also nearby are the two great Cathedrals, and the Everyman and Playhouse Theatres. A trip across the river on the Mersey Ferry may well be worthwhile if you come earlier. If you want to stay over, Liverpool now boasts a plethora of good hotels and restaurants, not to mention the clubs and the Philharmonic Hall, home of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and their conductor Vasily Petrenko.
