Albiez is a small, rustic, backwater village in a fine setting on the Col du Mollard, not far from St-Jean-de-Maurienne. Like Les Karellis, it makes a viable day trip from Valloire. The ski area is a modest affair - a network of eight or nine drags and slow chairlifts from two main lift bases at around 1600m up to a top height of 2100m, with a chair off to one side reaching 2200m. It's a very small area, with no more than 35km of pistes - blue lower slopes with some reds higher up. Accommodation is in apartments and simple B&Bs. There are cross-country trails, cleared paths and snowshoeing.
