St-Martin is a lived-in, unspoiled village with an old church (prettily lit at night), a small square and buildings of wood and stone, a few miles down the valley from Les Menuires. As a quiet, relatively inexpensive, attractive base for exploration of the Threes Valleys it's unbeatable. It is quiet. St-Martin was a farming village until the 1980s, when chairlifts linked it to the slopes of Meribel and Les Menuires.
