Tignes continues to offer the only skiing in France, with some great conditions reported under sunny Friday skies on the Grande Motte glacier and on the freshly-opened Double M piste back down into Val Claret. The week’s fresh snow bodes well for the opening of the rest of the Espace Killy in two weeks’ time.
The French Pyrenees have picked up more snow than their Alpine counterparts and we’re only a week away from Cauterets spinning their lifts – a week ahead of schedule.
Some further snow may be picked up in the coming days across the French Alps and Pyrenees and temperatures are set to remain low which is great news for snowmaking teams. This is great news for Val Thorens, which is scheduled to open in time for next weekend and for the many other resorts planning to open towards the end of November – which includes the likes of Les Arcs, Alpe d’Huez, La Plagne, Méribel and Courchevel.
