OFFICE GUIDE - WHAT CAN YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL DO TO HELP?
Re-think, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

EATING & DRINKING
Choose to refuse single-use plastic & reduce waste by:
• Keep Cup- Carry a keep cup on you and refuse single-use cups
• Straws- choose to refuse plastic straws
• Water Bottle – Carry a refillable bottle on you to avoid having to buy bottles of water
• Bring your lunch in / avoid buying single-use plastic.

SHOPPING
• Avoid plastic shopping bags by bringing your own re-usable carrier bag
• Re-think your buying habits: Do you need to buy something that’s wrapped in plastic. Is there an alternative option available to avoid buying single-use plastic?
e.g buying mayonnaise in a glass jar instead of a plastic bottle as this can be recycled.

REDUCE WASTE
• Be more mindful of recycling & follow recycling protocol
• Be more mindful of how much you print - Do you need to print that or can you take a laptop into your meeting instead?

ENERGY
• Save energy by switching off lights when you leave meeting rooms
• Don’t forget to turn your computers & screens off at the end of the day or when you are planning to be out of the office for an external meeting
• Don’t just reach for the heater! Bring a ‘ work cardigan’ to the office to keep on the back of your chair for those times when it gets a little chilly during the summer months.
• Fans – have you adjusted the air conditioning settings before reaching for an electric fan?

TRAVEL
• Have you thought about cycling to work? Ask us about our cycle to work scheme!
• Could you get public transport instead of driving?
