Minimal new snow has fallen over New Zealand; though the vast majority of resorts remain in great shape. It was a generally sunny clear day, with temperatures sitting around freezing. Some light flurries were reported, though mostly not enough to settle as any recorded measurements, with the exception of a single cm in Mount Hutt (44/91cm). For those resorts that saw less substantial snowfall last weekend the off piste conditions are still potentially challenging, often with very firm snow and only a dusting of soft snow if at all. Mt Ruapehu unfortunately saw deteriorating conditions over Monday, with cloud cover reducing visibility and increasing wind impacting lift operations.
Mount Olympus (10/100cm) opened on Sunday 15th July, our final featured New Zealand resort to do so, with all terrain open and good coverage across the mountain.
